EATS 90XP, EATS 90DP

Single or Dual Axis Tilt Sensor switch with bipolar analogue output.

The EATS 90XP and EATS 90DP are intelligent microprocessor controlled single or dual axis sensors that operate over the range of +/-45 degrees from horizontal. The EATS 90XA is a single axis sensor, X or Y axis. The axis configuration is either factory pre-set or selectable by RS232. The EATS 90DP is a dual axis sensor, X and Y axis.

Full Temperature compensation is included, which allows the unit to operate over the full -10°C to +70°C range with no loss of accuracy.

The standard output is 50mV per degree over the range of +/-45 degrees from horizontal. When the unit is horizontally level the output is 2.5V and swings between 0.25V and 4.25V depending on the measured angle.

The -1variant has an output of 100mV per degree. The output is 5V when level and swings between 0.5V and 9.5V depending on the measured angle. This version must be run from a power supply of 12 - 24Vdc.

Alarm levels may be pre-set, or configured via RS232 to switch a MOSFET and logic output at specific angles. The EATS 90DA has two MOSFET and two logic outputs that operate independently for each axis.

There are four angle levels per axis that are used to switch the MOSFET and logic outputs. The angle levels may be pre-set or are fully configurable with the RS232 option.

The angle levels operate as follows:

Level 1 is the most negative, or least positive, angle level. When the measured angle equals, or becomes more negative than level 1, the MOSFET is turned on.

Level 2 is the next negative or less positive angle level. When the measured angle equals, or becomes more negative, than level 2, the logic output is turned on.

Level 3 is the next positive or less negative angle level. When the measured angle equals, or becomes more positive than level 3, the logic output is turned on.

Level 4 is the most positive, or least negative angle level. When the measured angle equals, or becomes more positive than level 4, the MOSFET is turned on.

Under normal conditions, no output is on whilst the measured angle is between level 2 and level 3 settings.

In dual axis mode, axis Y uses levels 5 to 8 to switch the corresponding outputs 5 to 8.

Both models are housed in a compact rugged ABS case, and are fully sealed to meet the requirements of IP65.

Microprocessor control enables the sensor to be rapidly customised for specific applications. If you have an angle, or acceleration application that falls outside of our standard range, then please contact our sales office for technical assistance.

EATS 90XP

Single X or Y axis sensor with a bipolar analogue output of 50mV per degree.
One MOSFET and one logic output that operate when the measured angle is outside the pre-set alarm levels.

EATS 90XP-1

Single X or Y axis sensor with a bipolar analogue output of 100mV per degree. One MOSFET and one logic output that operate when the measured angle is outside the pre-set alarm levels.

EATS 90DP

Dual X and Y axis sensor with a bipolar analogue output of 50mV per degree.
One MOSFET and one logic output per axis that operate when the measured angle is outside the pre-set alarm levels.

EATS 90DP-1

Dual X and Y axis sensor with a bipolar analogue output of 100mV per degree. One MOSFET and one logic output per axis that operate when the measured angle is outside the pre-set alarm levels.

Options

Option C - Output connector

The standard sensor comes with a hard wired 1 metre lead. This option brings outputs onto a 6 + 6 way 2mm Datamate connector giving much greater flexibility for installation.

EATS 90DC

Use this part number to order a mating Datamate cable with 1metre 12 way flying lead.

EATS 90RC

Use this part number to order an RS232 interface cable. This enables all configurable parametes to be customised by connecting the sensor to a terminal or PC. It includes a 1.5metre lead with mating connector, and 9 way D type connector for direct connection to a serial port on a PC. A simple set of commands enables all parameters to be configured by the user using a terminal emulation program.
