SCM130MD is a tin dioxide semiconductor gas sensor which
is designed for breath alcohol detection. It gives high sensitivity to alcohol
vapors with quickly response rate at high relative humidity. SCM130MD is more suitable for
breath detection and automobile ignition locking systems.
Structure
The sensitive material of SCM130MD is carried on Pt
heater coil and an electrode was embedded in it. The sensor element is embedded in TO
metal house with stainless steel mesh (100 mesh) window.
Operating Conditions
The following schematics are two typical driving circuit
of SCM130MD. The change of the sensor resistance (R S)
is obtained as the change of the output voltage across the fixed or
variable resistor (RL).
In order to obtain the best performance and specified characteristics,
the values of the heater voltage (VH)
detect voltage (VD) and load resistance (RL)
must be within the range of values given in the standard
operating conditions shown in the table 1.
